Prior to working at Excel, Tim gained considerable experience working as a Technician and sole onsite Mechanic at Discount Hydraulics, with additional responsibilities in inventory, over the counter sales, truck and heavy equipment repair.
For the past 11 years, Tim’s held progressively responsible positions at Excel, moving from a cylinder repair technician to cylinder shop supervisor in his first few years. In 2013, Tim earned a promotion to General Manager, which came with oversight responsibility for the company’s entire operation, including the Truck and Heavy Equipment repair shop, Cylinder repair and Machine shop, Field Service team, and the Counter Sales and Parts group.
As of June 2019, Tim’s role changed to Quality Manager in the pursuit of the company’s ISO9001 Certification and strengthening Excel’s training development program. In this role, his responsibilities are focused on training, documenting and standardizing processes for overall continual improvement. Excel Hydraulics is currently on pace to obtain the ISO9001 Certification by the end of 2019, just a few short months of him taking on the role. His responsibilities include managing Excel’s entire QMS, documenting and reporting quality objectives, setting training matrix’s, monitoring all continued improvement opportunities and analyzing Excel’s SWOT analysis.
“This role has been a new challenge for me. I’ve learned a tremendous amount in a short time. It’s good to see the company identifying opportunities and seeking ways to improve processes to benefit the overall customer experience.” Tim stated.
