Tim Wallace: GM

Tim joined Excel Hydraulics in 2006 as a cylinder repair mechanic. Prior to working at Excel, Tim gained considerable experience working as a Technician and sole onsite Mechanic at Discount Hydraulics, where he also had additional responsibilities in inventory, over the counter sales, truck and heavy equipment repair. In addition to working at Discount Hydraulics, Tim’s prior work experience includes positions in customer service and in other mechanical service businesses.

For the past 11 years, Tim’s held progressively responsible positions at Excel, moving from a cylinder repair technician to cylinder shop supervisor in his first few years. In 2013, Tim earned a promotion to General Manager, which came with oversight responsibility for the company’s entire operation, including the Truck and Heavy Equipment repair shop, Cylinder repair and Machine shop, Field Service team, and the Counter Sales and Parts group.

Tim uses his extensive background and knowledge in the hydraulic repair arena to hire and train Excel’s expert team of technicians, mechanics, service writers and office staff. As General Manager, he’s nurtured and promoted several staff members into supervisory roles, allowing for the continued growth of the business and streamlining of the operation. “Growing the team and working with customers, people and employees are the most enjoyable part of my day,” shares Tim. “I always aim to solve problems and put a smile on their face.”

“It’s a pleasure to work with Tim and see how his “customer service first” approach builds strong relationships with customers, vendors and employees,” noted Chad Graham, Excel Hydraulics’ COO. “Tim is a very talented technician and applies his skills and background to delivering value to the customers through on-time repairs fixed the right way the first time,” commented Bob Chew, Excel Hydraulics’ owner and CEO. “We are lucky to have him on the team.”
